Mission statement Our Mediation and Legal Office provides a full range of services to individuals, families and organizations experiencing conflict situations. Our primary goal is to help our clients to resolve conflicts and to move forward in their lives by creative and complex services. Mediation services We provide mediation for divorcing or separating families involving issues such as residence of children, contact arrangements, child support, child abduction, maintenance, parenting, communication, property. Our Mediation Office also provides services in other civil disputes: elder issues, employment, finance, real estate, education, community conflicts. Legal services Our Legal Office’s key objective is to offer collaborative legal services to our clients. We approach cases in a sensitive, constructive and cost-effective way. We focus on cooperation and dialogue in order to result in a solution that is most likely to be accepted by all parties. We offer counselling and legal representation in the areas of:
Counselling and psychotherapy We provide counselling and psychotherapy to help to deal with the issues of divorce or separation.
Training and facilitation Our staff dr. Zsuzsanna Barinkai - lawyer, mediator, trainer dr. Barinkai is a graduate of Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Law. She started her career as a judge at Pest Central District Court and then became a lawyer in 1996. From 2000 to 2008 she directed the Mediation and Legal Office of Family, Child, Youth Association. She is the author of several books on mediation. Viktor Németh - researcher, mediator, trainer Viktor Németh graduated from Eötvös Loránd Institute of Sociology in 2004. He has ten years of experience in the field of research, gained at several national and international companies, such as Research International. He is enrolled in a Doctoral Program in Communications. His dissertation paper’s theme is the protocols of alternative dispute resolution, with a special focus on mediation. Mr. Németh is also a lecturer at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, faculty of Sociology and Communication. He teaches mediation and other ADR techniques. dr. Viktória Szotyori-Nagy - lawyer, mediator, trainer dr. Szotyori-Nagy graduated from Paris II, Panthéon-Assas then obtained a Hungarian degree in law from Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Law in 2004. She served as an intern at the United Nations Information Service in Vienna and then worked as a trainee lawyer for the Mediation and Legal Office of Family, Child, Youth Association. Since 2008 she is the member of the Budapest Bar Association. dr. Virág Vajna - lawyer, mediator, trainer dr. Vajna obtained a degree in law from Eötvös Loránd University. She worked as a trainee lawyer for the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, a human rights watchdog NGO, then in 1997 she became the director of the National Institute of Family and Child Protection’s legal department. Since 2000 she is the member of the Budapest Bar Association, from 2000 to 2008 she worked as lawyer-mediator for the Mediation and Legal Office of Family, Child, Youth Association
